Today, Latur and Osmanabad districts are firmly on their road to recovery. Thanks to the time-bound implementation of the rehabilitation programme, people have shifted into their houses and are leading a normal life. In the category of in-situ reconstruction, rehabilitation is complete in 15 out of 16 villages. The owner-driven Repair & Strengthening programme was a great success, with over 174,000 families undertaking repairs and strengthening of their houses using earthquake-resistant technology.
